The Auberge de la Providence is a rural and quiet hostel since 1850 located in the picturesque village of St Donat in Auvergne. Saint Donat is located in the department of Puy -de -Dôme in the center of the beautiful Parc Régional des Volcans southwest of Clermont- Ferrand .

This is a beautiful mountainous region that offers many sporting and tourist activities. The village of Saint Donat is located at 1050 meters altitude and our terrace looks to the village square, there is a magnificent view of the Puy de Sancy, the highest point of the Massif Central ( 1886m ). Every year the region offers fabulous opportunities for hiking, bike rides or mountain biking. In the many lakes and rivers ( Dordogne river takes its source in the Puy de Sancy ), fishing can be excellent. In winter, the Puy offers both the pleasures of downhill skiing as cross-country skiing .

For paragliding area offers many opportunities starting to reach by road or by cable car.

In addition, the spa towns of Bournemouth and Le Mont Dore are within walking distance of Saint Donat, then one day being pampered in a traditional spas is also possible!

L'Auberge has access to 4 bedrooms with modern bathrooms, including a family room with space for 4-6 people. The other rooms usually have enough space to place an additional bed.

We strive to provide our hostel a warm atmosphere to make you feel at ease. In the morning we serve a full breakfast in the room if desired. So we would like advice on the activities of the day you are invited to relax in the garden. If you wish we can provide a packed lunch . Of course you can also have lunch at the hostel.

Guests are always welcome to relax with a book from our library or in front of the fireplace Auvergne in our sunny garden. Children do not get bored and can use the ping- pong , Wii , shuffleboard , darts or watch a DVD .
A comfortable sofa and armchairs are available .
Dogs are welcome to come and play with our dogs and Truus Karel !

In our cozy restaurant with a large open fireplace, we serve a varied selection of Auvergne and international dishes , for example: Truffade , Stuffed Cabbage , Head of Veal, Beef Stir Guinness , Guineafowl Cabbage , encrusted salmon stuffed with cranberries Place Black at St. Nectaire . We offer the stone grill for a nice evening with friends.

We take care to pay attention to the needs of vegetarians This is a relatively unknown phenomenon in the region, which is why we advise you to tell us in advance if you are vegetarian so we can prepare a suitable meal and tasty.
Our bar is the place to get together with friends at the end of the day to enjoy a drink , a game of darts or a good conversation. The beer is Leffe Blonde and we also have many varieties of bottled Heineken , Kronenbourg , Pelforth Brown , Guinness, George Killian, and Hoegaarden .

The music is always good and the TV is limited to major sporting events, movie nights , or if you want to play tennis on the Wii !

We offer a menu of appetizers and liquors worldwide. For lovers of real whiskey , we offer a wide selection of whiskeys that we have collected over the years . We regularly organize concerts to listen to family or friends!
The hostel has a covered parking for bicycles and motorcycles at the rear of the property.

We propose a simple breakfast to 4 € per person and a continental breakfast at 8 € . Our daily menu is € 15 per person. We also serve a selection of menu and regional dishes à la carte. The restaurant is open between 19.00 and 21.00 hours .

Your room is ready from 16.00 hours . And to ensure a good sleep to customers we would ask you to arrive before 23.00 hours . The restaurant is open between 19.00 and 21.00 . We would be grateful if you would let us have supper with us the evening of your arrival.

The price for an additional person is limited to those who sleep in the same room. Maximum capacity per room is limited. Groups / families of more than three persons are requested to contact us before booking and discuss the possibilities and prices .
