Charming studio Paris Le Marais This is a lovely apartment in a great location, within walking distance (or a short Metro or Velib ride) of the main tourist sites but well away from the crowds. The neighborhood is mixed residential/commercial/historic and feels quite safe, even in the middle of the night. There is very little noise on the surrounding streets, but even if there were more, you wouldn’t hear it in this apartment due to its courtyard setting. So count on a good night’s sleep on a large and comfortable bed.

For a couple, the flat is cozy but not cramped. We spent a week there, but I’m sure it would be fine for a month or even longer. A third person could sleep on the couch, but that might be pushing it.

The apartment is furnished with everything you’ll need for a vacation stay. The only thing it lacks is a washer-dryer, but if you need to do laundry there are at least three self-service laveries within a five-block radius. Same for boulangeries, grocery stores, wine shops, etc. And plenty of cafes and restaurants.

The only downside to this apartment is the lack of a door separating the sleeping area from the rest of the flat. If one person wakes up earlier than the other, he or she must be careful not to make too much noise. This is not a criticism of Bernadette’s place in particular, but a caution about any apartment with an open loft/mezzanine.

We did not have the pleasure of meeting Bernadette in person, but her charming daughter, a Paris resident, met us at the apartment for check-in and check-out. Nor did we meet any of the MorningCroissant staff, but they were responsive and professional in all communications both before and after we booked our stay. The process worked great from start to finish.

seul inconvénient de taille (si je puis dire): la hauteur sous plafond de la mezzanine (1.30m) qui peut poser problème pour des personnes agées ...ou très grandes
